Create content assets - MultiExcerpt Asset Macro

To create your content assets you should think about a structure and categorization as well as a proper names concept to make it as easy as possible for the users to work with your content assets in different pages/blogs/spaces and keep it clean and scaleable.

We will give you additional infos on how to set up categories within our documentation.

To keep it simple in step one and get started, here are the first easy steps to built your content asset:

1.) Create a page (or edit an existing page) which we will use as the source for the content asset

2.) Type / or click the + icon type MultiExcerpt Asset.



3.) Select MultiExcerpt Asset Macro and click insert to include it into your page.



 

4.) Define Macro configuration for your MultiExcerpt Content Asset.

4.1) Define the name for your MultiExcerpt Content Asset. This will be the display name with which it will be listed in the MultiExcerpt Asset include macro overview to use it within other pages/blogs/spaces.



4.2) In addition to naming the MultiExcerpt Asset you can also define a category as metainfo for it. By clicking on the category field a dropdown menu opens and you can either start typing to get the autosuggest results for the categories and choose the right category accordingly or you can just scroll through the dopdown menu and choose.



This makes it easier for you and other users to identify and categorize your existing MultiExcerpt Assets and include them into existing contents and understand the context they are coming from

Excerpt name is always mandatory!

Category can be mandatory depending on definition by system administrator

4.3) To activate Hide content function gives you the additional option to hide the Multiexcerpt Asset content within the page for other users. If you activate this option in the macro, other user will not see the macro content within the page when its published. The Multiexcerpt Asset will still be available to include it into other pages.



This option allows you to create Multiexcerpt Assets and save them in context within the page they relate to without them necessarily having to be shown content of the page.

For Example if you want to summarize several information of a page into a Content Asset to use them in different contexts of other pages, but not show them within the detail description content of the source page

Click: Insert-Button to add the MultiExcerpt Asset macro into the page:



 

5.) Add the content into the macro box which you want to be available as one content asset within other pages/blogs/spaces. You can insert text, images, attachments, macros, tables and all other available content types within the editor.



6.) After finishing adding all necessary content, click publish to publish the page and create your first Multiexcerpt Content Asset.
